Freshwater East Bay
Trewent Holiday Village
Freshwater
East Beach is renowned for it’s blue tranquil water and fresh broad
golden sands. The beach slopes gently into the sea, making it ideal for
families. Backed by dunes with a freshwater stream running
into
the sea, and grassy headlands, this sheltered beach is popular with
water sportsenthusiasts; surfing, windsurfing, canoeing/kayaking and
sailing are prevalent. Fishing is also a favoured pastime with local
fishermen launching their boats from the slipway. There are café and
toilet facilities and ample parking near the beach. Only a few minutes
walk away the Freshwater Bay Holiday Park is superbly located with a
bar and café – The Longhouse - open all summer, with reduced opening
times in winter.
With Wales Tourist Board accredited self-catering accommodation available from FBM Holidays, this site offers excellent value for families and is located in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, offering fantastic walks along the coastal path (which crosses the bay at the front of the site) with its magnificent cliff top views. All the chalets are just a few hundred metres from the beach, and are fully self-contained. Perfect for families, couples, bird watchers, and walkers. Freshwater East beach and Barafundle beach have Green Coast Awards and Seaside Awards. The green coast award is similar to a Blue Flag Award but for rural beaches. Blue flag status requires a extensive facilities such as lifeguards, dog controls and refreshment facilities as well as the highest level of water quality. Rural beaches like Freshwater East have the same level of water quality but because of their rural location, don't have many of the facilities on the shore. The beaches are just as good but they aren't spoilt by unsightly development.
